To help bring the best teachers to a part of the San Luis Valley with few rental opportunities, two simple, elegant, and low-maintenance two-story duplex structures were designed, with each unit meeting an individual's complete housing needs, including one fully-ADA unit, and two units that could accommodate small families. In the non-ADA units, placing the living/dining and kitchen on the second floor provides prime views of the Blanca massif framed by the existing evergreens on site. Space between the two buildings invites shared outdoor meals amid the backdrop of some of Colorado's most impressive peaks.
